Former Weeribee Airfield west of Melbourne City in Victoria houses to former aircraft hangars on this disused airfield.
One hangar contains the restoration of A17-176 B24 Liberator which was rescued from a wooded area for 47 years and thanks to the No 3 Recovery Unit of the Australian Army it was recovered and in November 1995 transported to Weeirbee for its final resting place.
The hangar is open to the public for general viewing and I fully recommend it with a donation to the volunteers fund to continue rebuilding it.
So a party of 24 people dropped in on the 3rd march to inspect her and also in the hangar is a start of a Avro Anson and a Victorian Boomerang.
