I am sorry to announce the sudden parting of my co-founder/close friend Peter Mole early last week after being diagnosed with terminal Cancer.
Peter was a fellow Brit who immigrated to NZ years ago and both of us had the same passion for aviation as we did in England and was co-admin to our TaurangaSpotter blogsite highlighting Tauranga airport and the wider NZ GA within the country.
So on the 7th July ,his wife Celia organized a funeral service at the Classic Flyers Hangar at Tauranga airport, and a big thank you to Grayson Ottaway and Mike Condon for their great tribute speeches towards Peter.
And finally, it was a great gesture for the Tauranga airport ATC to allow the Tauranga Aircraft Community to pay their respects with 9 local aircraft carrying out an individual flypast display over the Classic flyers hangar Again thank you ATC and Tauranga Airport Management.
The Aircraft involved where
- ZK-GSU Pipistrel Taurus
- ZK-TAC Cessna 152
- ZK-YAC Yak 52
- ZK-ECQ Piper PA31 Navajo
