My trip back to Abu Dhabi

Sadness,as my month holiday back home is at an end  til December as Departing Tauranga/TRG on board Air Nelson DHC-8 ZK-NEC at 6.45am for a half hour flight back into Auckland/AKL to catch my flight to Sydney with Air New Zealand on B777 ZK-OKF and then Abu Dhabi.

Landing into a foggy Auckland and luckily got under way for Sydney with the entire Warriors Rugby league team on board for probably another defeat in Sydney.

Waited for 2hrs before departing on Etihad Airways on a B777 and landing just after 11pm with a flight duration of 13hrs 30 mins !!!!

New restoration project at Tauranga

Landing at Tauranga was John Pheasant,s Foxy lady Tiger Moth ZK-BFF  which is approaching to land on 25 Grass r/wy.

I was lucky enough for John to show me his next Restoration project.A Thruxton Jackaroo which arrived from an auction in Australia some 6 weeks ago.He says a projected 2-3 years away from flying but it will be the only example here in New Zealand.I will continue to monitor the restoration progress and post it on our blog-site

Couple of twins into Tauranga

Visting Tauranga on a lovely sunny winters day brought out various aircraft into TRG hense a visit from Rotorua of Cessna 310 VH-JTV  operated by RedCliff Aero Club which I believe is on a Survey mission around Central North Island,

Also visiting was PA31 Navajo ZK-LWN of Skyline Aviation which was parked outside Sunair Hangar.

Hot Air Balloon at FMG Waikato Stadium

Noted last night at the Chiefs rugby stadium in Hamilton for the British & Lions Rugby  tour was Kubicek BB-60Z ZK-UPP which was fully erected for the general public to witness

New resident additions to Tauranga

It has been a while since an update on residents into Tauranga so here are a few that i have captured on camera and there are more but hidden away at present.

Piper PA23 Aztec ZK-DGT operated by Dairy Tech International which also owns Piper PA31 Navajo  ZK-ECQ which is currently on re-build.

Cessna 172 N ZK-FII owned privately

On of 3 additions to the Tauranga Aero-club  are Cessna 152 ZK-FPG.

Robinson R-44 ZK-HDV is privately owned

Operating from outside Solo Wings Hangar is Adventure Helicopters Ltd Guimbal G2 Cabri ZK-IIM

Cessna R172K Skyhawk ZK-KDB is privately owned.

Rutan Varieze ZK-NCD seen taxing out for a local flight around Papamoa.

2nd addition to Tauranga Aero-Club fleet is Cessna 152 ZK-NPD

Noted outside Solowings Maintenance hangar is Magni-Gyro M24C ZK-PLW which again is privately owned.

Formerly ZK-FMV Tauranga Aero Club has re-registered Cessna 155 ZK-TAC with a new re-spray as well.

Tecnam  P92 Echo Classic ZK-VTE seen here tucked away in its hangar is ZK-VTE.
